Every year, on the last Monday in May, Celebration Day — a not-for-profit initiative — offers a collective moment to pause, remember and give thanks for the people who shaped our lives and whose influence endures, even in their absence.
With many of the rituals that once helped us do this fading, Celebration Day offers a simple, unifying way to honour the past and bring people together in the present.
People are invited to mark the day in whatever way feels right to them: by remembering the friends and family who formed them, the well-known figures who inspired them, or the everyday heroes whose quiet impact helped make us who we are.
Open to everyone, it is not an organisation, campaign or lobby, but a shared excuse to reconnect with others and celebrate the people who have inspired us and the life we continue to live.
